What Affects the Cost of a Charter Flight?
Every charter is quoted individually. Here’s what goes into a quote — and the details that help us give you an accurate one quickly.
Why charters are quoted, not priced off a list
A scheduled airline spreads its costs across hundreds of seats on a fixed timetable. A charter is the opposite: you hire the whole aircraft, crew and schedule for your trip. No two jobs are the same, so every charter is quoted to the route, aircraft and timing you need.
The upside is that you only pay for what your trip actually requires — and a well-planned charter can be cost-competitive with commercial travel, especially for groups heading to regional or remote destinations.

The factors that shape your quote

Aircraft type and size
Larger and faster aircraft cost more per hour to operate. We match the smallest suitable aircraft to your passengers, baggage and distance — our fleet ranges from three to twelve seats.

Distance and flight time
Flying hours are the biggest driver. Direct routing to the airstrip nearest your destination often saves time compared with flying via a major airport.

Positioning
If the aircraft has to fly empty to collect you, or return empty after dropping you off, that positioning time is part of the job. Return trips and combined itineraries help.

Waiting time and overnights
Day trips where the aircraft waits for you, or multi-day trips needing crew accommodation, are factored in.

Airport and landing fees
Different airports and airstrips charge different landing and parking fees.

Timing and urgency
Short-notice, after-hours and weekend departures can affect the quote. Planned and regular flights are easier to schedule efficiently.

Payload
Passenger numbers, baggage, tools and freight all affect which aircraft can do the job.

Frequency
Regular contract work, such as FIFO rosters, can be planned and quoted across the whole program.
How to get an accurate quote fast
Send us these details and we can come back with the right aircraft and a firm quote:
- Route — departure point and destination airstrip(s)
- Dates and times — including whether you need the aircraft to wait
- Passengers — numbers and approximate baggage
- Freight — weight, dimensions and any dangerous goods
- Flexibility — can times move to suit a return leg?

Charter cost FAQs
No. Every charter is quoted individually because the aircraft, route, timing and payload are different for each job. Send us your trip details for a tailored quote.
It depends on the trip. For a group travelling to a regional or remote destination with limited scheduled services, a charter can be cost-competitive once you account for time saved, direct routing and avoided connections.
Being flexible with times, combining legs into one itinerary, avoiding empty positioning legs and booking regular flights in advance all help us schedule efficiently.
Freight is part of the overall payload. Tell us its weight and dimensions with your passenger details and we’ll quote the whole job.
